With a populace of almost 500 and an area of 63 square miles, this island is where Columbus first landed in 1492. It is therefore, historically speaking; one of the most important islands in The Bahamas and indeed the region of The Americas.

      

Indeed, several monuments of the island honour Columbus' landing. The island is still relatively untouched and offers tremendous natural charm.
